Arise, Shine and Be Glorious

Isaiah 60:1
Arise, shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

Introduction
• God has a mandate for the church to arise and shine because His glory is risen upon us.
• It means we have to do our job to share the gospel and live a life free from iniquity.
• It means doing good in accordance with the gospel we preach. Then God’s glory who is
Jesus will rise upon us.

I. Two things the church must do:
A. Arise. It means: Get out from a passive position.
1. Stop complacency and be zealous for God.
2. Stop living for selfish motivation and serve. Be significant.
3. Turn away from filthiness and live for Jesus.
B. Shine. Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works
and glorify your Father in heaven.
Your character should be like that of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Show your love for others.
Be a blessing.

II. Your Light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
A. Jesus has come and His glory is upon us.
1. Haggai 2:6-9
2. He will fill the Church with His Glory.
B. Isaiah 60:3-7 God has promised what He is going to do to the Church.

III. What will Jesus do to the Church? Isaiah 60:3-7
A. V. 3 Gentiles, esp. kings shall come.
B. V. 4 Your sons and daughters (converts) shall come and be trained.
C. V. 5 Finances will be poured in from people (believers and unbelievers)
D. V. 6 They shall attend fellowship with cars and the place will be filled. They
finances. God will prosper them.
E. V. 7 Hard people will be converted and be accepted before God.
F. God will glorify the house of His glory (the Church)

THE EAGLE’S WINGS

How lovely are your wings oh Fowl of the sky
So swift and very lofty you soar on high
Strong and Mighty in power you never sigh

You lay your young upon the high mountain peak
We the rain falls they are the first to be hit
And when the sun scorches they get the greatest heat.

The serpent draws near croaching with his belly
With his rattling tail he comes in a hurry,
Moving with his tongue to devour the weary

But you see from afar with your eagle’s eye
And you come to the rescue with a loud cry
You take him by the tail and then fly up high

With your fury you smash him upon the prick
By your wrath you bruise his head with your beak
Until he’s nowhere, no matter how they seek

And then you come to your young and spread your wing
“No one can touch them” you say to their hearing
“My priceless Children” beneath your wings you bring

TURNING AWAY FROM ALL INIQUITY

DEPART FROM ME WORKERS OF INIQUITY
THAT IS WHAT THEY WILL HEAR FROM GOD ALMIGHTY
THEY CONFESS GOD YET PRACTICE IMPURITY
THE LORD IS ANGRY WITH SIN AND VANITY

IF YOU SEEK TO PLEASE THE LORD OUR MASTER
YOU MUST TURN YOUR BACK FROM LUST AND ALL OTHER
FOR GOD IS HOLY BUT STILL LOVES THE SINNER
TO TURN FROM ALL EVIL, HIS LIFE TO OFFER.

ALL SINS ARE DECIETFUL AND MAY SEEM ALRIGHT
BUT LITTLE DO YOU KNOW THEY’RE UGLY IN SIGHT
SO TAKE AWAY FILTINESS BEFORE IT’S NIGHT
WHEN NO ONE CAN WORK BECAUSE THERE’ NO LIGHT

SULFUR AND BRIMSTONE EVEN THE LAKE OF FIRE
AWAITS THOSE WHO GIVE WAY TO EVIL DESIRE.
THE GOOD AND THE BAD, ALL THE DIRT WE ACQUIRE
WE NEED THE SAVIOR TO LIFT US FROM THE MIRE

GOD! HELP US TO TURN FROM ALL INIQUITY
TOGETHER WE’LL STAND IN LOVE AND UNITY
GIVE US A HEART OF FAITH AND HUMILITY
TO SERVE YOU WITH JOY FOR ALL ETERNITY.

HOW CAN I THANK YOU FOR BEING SO GOOD?
TO ME YOU HAVE DONE GREAT THINGS AS YOU WOULD.
YOU MENDED MY HEART THAT WAS HARD AS WOOD,

YOU FOUND ME AND CAME TO MY LIFE ONE DAY.
AND WITH OPEN ARMS YOU SHOWED ME THE WAY.
NOW I HAVE THE EYES THAT SEE AND LIPS THAT PRAY.
AND I SING YOUR PRAISES ALL NIGHT AND DAY.

MY FRIEND, MY REDEEMER AND MY LORD GOD
YOU’RE EVERYTHING TO ME EVEN MY DAD.
I LONG FOR YOU TOUCH THAT MAKES ME SO GLAD.
LET YOUR SPIRIT DEFEND ME LIKE A FLOOD.

YOU ALONE ARE GOD, THERE’S NONE BESIDE YOU.
MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH AND ALL THINGS IN VIEW.
ALL CREATION SERVE YOU, AND ANGELS TOO.
LET THEM OBEY AND YOUR GLORY PURSUE.

GIVE ME YOUR HEART

MY SON, ARE YOU WEARY AND TIRED?
HAVE YOU DONE MUCH WORKED SO HARD?
ARE YOU WORRIED OF WHAT TRANSPIRED?
ON THE THINGS THAT YOUR LIFE WAS MINED?

MY SON, STOP STRUGGLING BY YOURSELF
GIVE ME YOUR HEART AND TAKE MY HELP.
LEAN NOT ON YOUR THINKING AND WEALTH.
BUT IN MY GRACE, MERCY & HEALTH

MY SON, ITS YOUR LOVE I DESIRE
NOT YOUR CASH, NOR WHAT YOU ASPIRE.
ITS YOUR FAITH AND TRUST I REQUIRE
GIVE YOUR HEART AND SET IT ON FIRE.
